Dont worry you should be able to use any remote to reset a bulb (it does not need to be connected to that bulb)
Just hold it very close to the bulb and hold the on&off until the bulb starts flashing (10sec)

How do I get my roku device onto my home wifi without a remote ( after a factory reset) I have used the mobile app exclusively after losing the remote.. but had to do a factory reset and now stuck on the remote pairing screen of the startup menu

Your Community account here says you have a Roku Premiere. This will respond to the standard set of infrared (IR) commands used by all Roku devices (Exceptions: Streaming Stick products that are used behind the TV where IR can't reach, and Roku TVs that use a different set of IR commands). The Roku "Simple Remote" is all you need. Plus there are 3rd party clones that will do the job available from Amazon, Wal-mart, etc.. Inexpensive universal IR remotes found at many retailers will work too -- just be sure it says it can control a Roku device.

@Slicback21, you need a remote. The Voice Remote will work, but the simple remotes for Roku console boxes will not. Otherwise you need a remote specifically for TCL Roku TVs. Universal remotes have to support Roku TVs and not just Roku devices.

All Roku TVs will support any of the Roku "Voice Remotes". You may be able to find these locally at Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, etc, or of course at online sources like Amazon, eBay, and from Roku itself. These are point-anywhere remotes that connect to the TV via WiFi-direct, and must be paired to the TV to enable them to communicate.

Remotes supplied with Roku TVs connect by infrared (IR) and are relatively inexpensive. They "just work" without being paired to the Roku TV. You may be able to find them locally at Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, etc, or of course at online sources like Amazon and eBay, but not from Roku. Roku TV remotes from any Roku TV manufacturer and from third party suppliers are largely interchangeable and can be used with Roku TVs from other manufacturers*.

So i dont have the remote that came with my roku express 4k+ and have not been able to set it up after a factory reset. None of the roku apps or the remote i bought for it is able to control the roku. I have not been able to get past the language screen. Im at a loss. The roku was given to me and the person lost the remote.

Describe the roku, does it accept hdmi cable? Or is a stick with a built-in hdmi connector? A Stick won't accept IR commands from a universal remote, it has to have wifi Roku remote. If it accepts a hdmi cable, so it should be controlled by universal remote with Roku code on board. It would have to have line of sight from the universal remote to the front of the Roku for it to work. It can't be buried behind the TV.

I have a TCL Roku TV and I hit the factory reset, but do not have a TCL Roku remote -- I only have a regular Roku remote. It is now disconnected because of the factory reset. I am stuck on the select language screen and have no way to select without a remote. What can I do?

@wilkse23, since you factory reset it there's nothing you can do except get a remote. A remote for a Roku player won't work on a Roku TV (unless it's a voice remote). You can either get a TCL remote for the Roku TV, a Roku voice remote (sold at Target, Walmart, or Best Buy), or a universal remote that supports Roku TVs. Those are your only options unless you have a friend with the proper remote.

I just purchased a replacement remote. As I went to pair the new remote to my Roku device, I noticed that there is no pairing button. It is the basic standard remote (nothing fancy).

I researched how to pair the remote without the pairing button, and the only instruction that I found was to unplug the Roku stick, wait until the Roku screen appears on the tv, and then put new batteries into the remote and point at the Roku device.

Of course I have no idea what roku remote you bought? What model of roku you have? If this new roku remote has power key then its a Roku TV remote and uses a completely different IR code then Roku console streamers like express, premiere, or ultra.

I have the same problem, but have a ONN Roku TV. My dog ate the remote. The new remote doesn't have a pairing button. I've unplugged the TV. Removed the remote batteries. Plugged the TV back in amd reinstalled the remote batteries. No success

This new remote says Onn Roku tv on it? Does it say Roku tv on the remote at all? A regular roku remote for non-tv rokus use a different code set then roku tv do. Describe it? A Onn roku tv will respond to remotes from TCL, Insignia, sanyo, magnavox, westinghouse, philips, and jvc roku tv's, but not hisense or sharp. If it doesn't have Roku tv written it then its not a roku tv remote and won't work for you.

One last thing, does it have microphone button like on in my picture, or a key with a crescent moon? Microphone means its a wifi remote and should have pairing button in the battery compartment, moon its a Roku tv IR remote and should just work unless its a hisense or sharp roku tv remote.

I think you installed the wrong app. There are two apps currently in the store. One from Athom and one from the community. If you want them to control them directly with homey intead of using the hub you need to repair them. Here is how:

Hue lights are also resettable with the round Hue remote (i.e. Living colors gen 2 Remote). Delete the specific light in the official iOS Hue app. Then turn on the power of the specific light. Then press the on button and the one dot button on the remote simultaneously, while holding the remote near the light. The light will blink and has been reset. You can now add the light to Homey.

NOTE: If the bulbs have been used with a bridge, or bought as a package with bridge, prior to connecting them directly to Homey. You will need to reset the bulb with the Philips Hue bridge before being able to add them. You can also reset the bulb with a Philips Hue Remote (8718696743157).

Thanks. That has worked well. However after adding the light to Homey the dimmer Switch became an orphan. I tried pairing it again with the lamp, the latter disconnects from Homey. Is there a way I can have the light controlled via Homey and via the Dimmer Switch?

I factory reset my Roku device with my mobile phone because I lost my remote a long time ago. Now I cant connect my phone to my Roku device. My tv screen is stuck on lets get started because my phone wont connect anymore.

How can I access My Roku HDMI without a remote. Can I use a Samsung Galaxy Phone and download the Roku application? The Roku device was previously set up at a different Address, so now that I have it at new location, the IP Address on the device is set for the old location. Why and how.can I fix this issue.

Simple - get a remote. You can't connect a Roku to your network without a remote. If it's anything but a stick, find a cheap universal IR remote at your favorite big box store (or even the dollar store). Just make sure it lists Roku as a supported device. If it's a stick, only a Roku remote will do.

Downloaded the Roku app on my phone to utilize the remote function. Suddenly after connecting the Roku device stopped connection to my phone and internet. How can I get access back when Roku isn't connected to internet or my phone? Plus I don't have the remote up address.

Hello, we lost the Roku remote and around the same time our wifi was somehow automatically changed back to the factory setting after needing to reset our modem. Now our wifi password and network name is different AND we have no remote. Does anyone have any suggestions or do we have to restart and order a new one?

Originally, WiFi suddenly failed to see any networks. After troubleshooting, I did a factory reset. Now the remote will not operate, other than power. The TV is still stuck on the language selection menu.

@Psyrog , if your tv isn't responding to the remote, you can view the front of your remote through a cell phone camera to see if the IR is actually luminating. (For some reason you can see that through a phone's camera.).

There is a factory-reset pinhole button on the back of the tv. Your tv's manual will explain how to use it (google your tv model to find the manual). I'm sure there are videos showing how to do it, probably applicable to all models.

If your Roku TV is stuck on the language screen, and the remote will only control on/off but can't scroll, try resetting the remote: Remove the cover on the back of the remote and long-press the reset button that you will find near the top.

Have you tried contacting the TV manufacturer to inquire further? I'd suggest starting there to see what options or suggestions they can provide. Each Roku TV manufacturer provides direct support and warranty services for their products running the Roku OS.

The Philips TV is a popular brand among Smart TVs that offer tough competition to Panasonic and Samsung. The specialty of this particular model lies in its durability, long-lasting features as well and easy user interface.

My Google TV remote control has died with what looks to me like a hardware issue. The advice from the help line was to factory reset the chromecast which I thought unlikely to help but you have to go through the script right?

Unfortunately having factory reset the chromecast I now can't set it up at all as it stops at the point it wants to pair the remote. There's no chromecast wifi so the google home app can't see it. It's not on my wifi anymore becasue it's defaulted so I can't control it with my phone. It's connected via CEC-HDMI but it doesn't respond to the TV remote. If I try pairing it with an XBox controller it has a go but then fails and goes back round the loop.
