I never had AC before.  Our 2019 355 is to be pulled from the water next week.  Factory installed.

I intended to pull the hose from the strainer on the pump side and run water system antifreeze through that.  No success removing the hose, so tried to get it off the pump as the hose says it is not rated for alcohol anyway.  No joy there, yet.

Question:  Marsh pump online info says it can not be run dry, and some info suggests there must be some water pressure to continue the flow to the pump.  My intent now is to put a bucket on the salon table, run a 3/4" hose to the top of the strainer and start the AC.   Will this be sufficient flow pressure?
Alternative will be to cut the hose off the pump and mary the remainder to the antifreeze bucket versus a funnel on the hose end as I will be solo for this.

The thru-hull for the A/C is in my bilge and there’s a hose that goes to the strainer. I usually remove the hose from the thru-hull and connect that to my container of antifreeze which is on the table. That puts the liquid above the level of the pump which is in the bilge. I make sure any air in the hose bubbles up and out into the container. I then start the A/C and wait until I get the antifreeze coming out the exit thru-hull at the stern of the boat.

I just did it while in the water.  Close intake thru hull and unscrewed the cap from the strainer an poured antifreeze in as the unit ran, and until my son saw the antifreeze exiting the thru hull at stern and came back to turn off the unit.   Bubbles do come back after turning off and I poured a bit more antifreeze.  if you get an air lock in pump, bleed it from the pump's egress hose.

I bought a strainer cap that has a hose fitting in it. I also bought an adaptor to hook an air hose up to it. I can either blow it out or run antifreeze through from the 5 gallon winterizing kit with a short hose.

This is how we do it. Use a small plastic hand piston pump, place the intake hose in the pink stuff and insert the output hose in the exit thru hull at the stern, begin pumping until the antifreeze come out the thru hull for the cooling water to the unit. You are pumping the antifreeze in reverse through the system. The strainer will be full of antifreeze. Done in less than 5 min, no hose disconnects. You will have to press the hose at the stern firmly while pumping or it will leak out, easier with 2 people so one can pump. Can get the pump for $10.
