I just came back from the Newport boat show - shopping for radar and a new mfd. The axiom pro s, 9" and quantum 2 doppler, both raymarine look really cool, but very pricey. Does anyone have experience feeding wires down the mast? I imagine it goes down through the compression post. I'd like to do a mast mount for the extra height and neatness but my mechanic is encouraging a pole mount on the transom. Easier. Thoughts?

Hi Evan,
I describe my radar install here: https://groups.google.com/g/catalina355/c/PwTl2Oju1aE/m/6no5El0cCgAJ. I don’t know if you plan on doing it yourself or farming it out. If DIY, I have the heavy duty riveter to install the ScanStrut mount on the mast. You’re in Boston right?
