Television install

Hi all….

Thinking of installing a new TV on our 355.

Anybody know what the current brand and model is on the new boats?

Are they 12v DC or 112?

Any input or suggestions appreciated.

Hi Dan - I took delivery of #164 last February. Dunbar Yachts installed a 32” LG TV on the starboard bulkhead. 112. Very professional install. Nice picture, decent smart TV features. Use with a Roku stick.

My #147 came with a TV that uses an inverter(12v to 110v) and a top of mast mounted antenna.

Works great!

Might want to call Customer service at Catalina so they can tell you what they are installing in new vessels.

Current drawn from 12 v system is very low(1-2 amps) when running.

We took delivery of hull #162 in December.

Opted not to do the factory TV, which is not a smart TV.

We provided the dealer (Dunbar) with a 32" LG smart TV, which they installed on the starboard bulkhead and did a great job.

It runs on 12V power and can use signal from an antenna or wifi, so we can view broadcast TV, Netflix, Apple etc.

Hi Dan, 

Our 2019 came with a 32” tv, photos of the inverter, antenna, etc which are all neatly tucked in the forward starboard locker….works great however the inverter is LOUD :) 

Tv is Samsung, would not recommend as every time our marina Wifi goes we have to re-enter the password which is not desirable.  Just bought a Sony tv for home, so would get Sony for the boat if had a choice.  

Our boat came with two interior Bose speakers and the Fusion system.  Love it, however we learned the TV cannot play through the Bose speakers (only the DVDs, Bluetooth, etc do) this is on my project list to figure out how to get the Tv to play through the Bose speakers so we are not using the TV speakers.  Tried all the settings in the tv with no avail so next step will be to unscrew the panel in the locker by navigation station to see how it’s wired.  If anyone has solved this, would love to hear!

Hi Folks,

I have owned Hull 101 (BLESSING) for a year now but this is my first communication to the group. The boat was formally Spyhop for those of you who might know her. I am told she is the only one with a blue hull. I have very much appreciated all of the information from group owners. Regarding television I’ll just mention that my boat did not come with TV but we have enjoyed watching movies on a few occasions up in the cockpit where we can feel the breezes and enjoy the skyline. We use my iPad and while it’s not 32 inches, the view of the skyline and the water makes up for that. Blessing is moored just off the Intracoastal between West Palm Beach and Palm Beach Island, Florida. Thanks again to everyone who contributes to this group website!

We actually got a chance to meet the original owners who were from Australia. They decided to tour the U.S. while waiting for the boat to be commissioned and came through Boston where we met up with them for the day. Great folks and a great boat (and yes yours is the only blue hull out of the factory)…enjoy…
