After 13 seasons (most summers we live aboard for about 2 months) our refrigerator bit the dust. We took it to our dealer figuring he has seen this before, but he was befuddled.
A couple of years ago, Warren Pandy advised me that Isotherm stopped making the unit and Catalina was fabricating the box in house and using Isotherm mechanicals.
On the dealer's first look he said that he would need to replace the entire unit because he did not think the available replacement machinery would fit. He is reaching out to Catalina for a solution.
Has anyone else had this issue and how was it resolved?

I replaced my Isotherm with a Seafrost - a much better system and made in the USA.

Hi Ken,
I installed the Sea Frost BD System.
Each system is custom made for the size of the refrigerator box and where you plan to put the compressor.  The compressor will not fit in the space of the existing Isotherm compressor which is a bad location to start off with.  I located my compressor in the cabinet under the port settee.

Before you call Sea Frost you should measure your refrigerator box to determine the square footage and dimensions of the box.

When you call or email you actually get to talk to the owner and he is very helpful.

Go to Seafrost.com

If you have any questions about the installation feel free to contact me.

Also, I would not recommend the ice cube trays.
They are expensive and do not work very well.
