Difficult Boom Vang Adjustment Solution

We had difficulty with adjusting the boom vang.  It required either someone much stronger than I or using the winch in order to adjust it.  Selden said we needed to change the gas cylinder to a lighter one.

I could grab the end of the boom and pull it down, so that told me the blocks were the problem.  I replaced the Selden 3:1 setup with a pair of nice Garhauer double blocks and a Garhauer single block at the mast step and it's now easy and operates smoothly without a winch.
