Hi, wondering if others are having this problem and what they did to solve. I get water collecting ( a puddle) on the port and starboard rails by the lifeline gates from the morning dew. Attached is a photo and you can see the water by the gate stanchions. Any advice on how to get it to drain?

One of my biggest complaints of the design of the deck. It needs a deck drain there. But it would have messed up the aesthetics I guess…?

My solution - a microfiber mop. I just mop it up in the mornings. Or Take the boat out sailing….the heel will make the water run off the toe rail!

Same as Mike. I keep a chamois mop on board. Many days there is enough dew to dissolve the salt deposits certainly after it rains the boat is clean.

I keep my boat on a lift, so I just raise the bow a bit. But the first owner (for two years)(or else Catalina), appears to have notched the toe rail to let it drain. Still doesn’t completely solve the problem when on the water though.

Catalina must have recognized that issue.
I have hull #162 and there is a deck drain there.

I find the best way to get it to run off is to go sailing.

The Notch is by Catalina.  New 355/356 models have a drain in the Deck to solve.
