Months will go into years. If it is resurrected it won’t be the same company. The staff have moved on.

Very sad.

It is beyond sad...Hopefully, someone buys out what's remaining like other sailboat manufacturer's have experienced in the past like Pacific Seacraft. Although without a doubt it will not be the same. Hoping the staff have found ways to move on and do well.... As for current Catalina owners that are 5 years old or less, how will any claims if needed be handled. If at all....

Walter B

Did anyone take the idea of current owners creating a fund to buy it?

I talked with the dealer in Palmetto Florida today, not far from the Catalina factory in Largo, and he has not heard anything recently.

That's a very interesting idea.....The first question is who owns it right now, can it be sold, especially if there are legal strategies in play, what is left after creditors seek their owed monies and then comes the real questions like physical assets, staff, models, build plans, and of course costs. But the new Pacific Seacraft owners and others figured things out. Catalina has been the producer of great sailing vessels that people can get into boating on. And sailing as a sport and practice will not disappear, Its an art and a way of life....Be interesting to see what happens next, if anything....

It just seems with so many loyal owners, Catalina has a unique opportunity to survive with a very focused business.   But being a consultant I am not naive to what it would take.  Your point on creditors is right.  I wish I knew more where it was in the crisis and have a strategy and the right leader when it comes to the final stand.
