I finally realized that my refrigerator is always on no matter where I set the thermostat so I ordered a replacement thermostat. But I can’t figure out how to access the back of the refrigerator to plug in the wiring and attach the new thermostat’s capillary temperature sensor tube to the unit. When I remove the back cushion on the other side of the sink I see a panel but no obvious way to remove it. Anyone have any experience with this.

On my boat that panel is a piece of Formica that is glued to the cabinet. If you have a long thin putty knife you can try to break the bond and pull it off. I tried but ended up breaking the piece. I replaced it with a piece of 1/4" teak plywood screwed into the cabinet back.
