Prezados,

Envio a oportunidade abaixo, de trabalhar com uma grande ONG internacional durante a Rio+20, e de ter acesso à conferência. Trata-se da vaga de tradutor Inglês-Espanhol da Oxfam. Em princípio, será uma vaga para voluntários, mas, dependendo da demanda de trabalho, pode haver a contratação remunerada de tradutores.

Digo por experiência que o convívio com as pessoas que farão parte da delegação deles na conferência da ONU já vale a pena o trabalho. Position Title: Spanish Translator

Oxfam International Youth Partnerships is a global network of young people working with
their communities to create positive, equitable and sustainable change. Oxfam contributes to
the aims of OIYP by providing a Program to build the capacity of its partners to be effective
facilitators of change. Oxfam works with 300 young people over a three-year program
focusing on building skills and knowledge, supporting action, facilitating networking and the

Position Description: We are seeking 2 enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals –
fluent in Spanish and English with previous experience in translation/interpreting work, to
support bilingual communication within the dynamic Oxfam International Youth Partnerships
(OIYP) Program. OIYP is bringing 16 young people from our network (called ‘Action
Partners’) to Rio de Janerio from June 10th – 22nd, 2012, to participate in the Rio+20
Conference and Side Events. Of these Action Partners, 12 speak English and 4 speak
Spanish. We seek 2 proficient translators to assist OIYP with spoken and written translation
to ensure that all Action Partners can fully engage in the activities taking place in Rio de
Janerio over the 2 weeks.

This position suits a student currently working on a degree in Spanish and/or Translation
Studies, eager to apply their excellent communication skills to an inspiring and engaging
international youth development program.

Responsibilities:

Assisting with spoken translation during the 3-day workshop from June 13th – 15th
Supporting the 4 Spanish-speaking Action Partners as they attend the Conference
and Side Events where required
Providing written translation support of OIYP’s and the Action Partners’
communications



Days/hours per week: From June 10th – June 22nd, 2012. Hours will be negotiated

Key Skills Required:

Necessary skills

Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English (native Spanish speaker
or equivalent)



Qualifications/experience in Spanish Translation OR demonstrable translation
skills


Computer literacy, particularly with Internet and Microsoft office applications


Highly organised with attention to detail


Ability to work under the pressure of a deadline


Reliable and committed to producing high quality work


Professional work ethic

Desired Skills


Professional qualification in translation


Interest in youth issues (i.e. Youth empowerment/development); international

development
