Treasure Island Water Break 10/27/12
Change since last Sit Rep -
The water system has been tested by the PUC. The pressure is insufficient for supply of water through residents' plumbing. Portable toilets have been requested for delivery. Some potable water is on the island in tanker trucks for distribution. We are in the process of obtaining water storage containers for residents; additional bottled water may be requested. A "boil water" notice was already distributed on Twitter and we are organizing a door to door campaign.
Situation Summary -
On Oct 26th at 1729 hours a water main broke on Treasure Island (TI). The PUC was notified and an investigation began. A water main break in the marina outside of TI's main gate was reported as a possible cause.
The EOC was activated at 2300 hours to coordinate city resources to restore essential services, prevent public safety and public health problems, and to collaborate with organizations who serve community residents.
Last Sit Rep: 10/26/12 0042am
Top Priorities
1. Public Messaging
2. Repair and restore pressure tothe water system
3. Confirm proper sanitation (i.e. Portable Toilets)
4. Interim water distribution
