Dear Community Partners:
On behalf of the Richmond Police Department, I want to thank you for working to make Richmond a safer place to live. Whether you are a leader in your neighborhood, a volunteer, a non-profit services provider, part of the business community, are a faith leader or an advocate or a youth, your work matters to us.
In that spirit, the Richmond Police Department would like to engage our community partners in helping us to craft our three year strategic plan. A strategic plan is the organizational life map of an agency. It helps identify key goals and objectives, and a compelling vision for making them a reality.
We recently identified four key internal and external organizational areas of focus that the department will address as part of a strategic plan. One of those focus areas was Community Engagement and Crime Prevention. These values underscore our community policing efforts.
We felt that it was important to hear community voices to provide clarity and feedback on this important topic, and identify which of the department goals and objectives align most closely with community needs.
I’d like to personally invite you to participate in a focus group to provide your feedback on this portion of the department’s strategic planning process. There will be three 90 minute sessions, which will be an opportunity for you to help shape this process.
Dinner will be provided. There will also be a Spanish language session TBA. Please let us know if you’d like to attend that one.
The sessions are listed as follows:
Monday, February 11th 6:00 -7:30 pm
Saturday, February 23, 10:30 -12:00 noon
