I posted the Warrior Mage class, a free download from Adventure Games
Publishing, in the files section. At least one member of my group
feels the class is over-powered, and on a cursory inspection of the
PDF I suspect he may be right. On the other hand, the XP progression
is slow, so that counterbalances the power level to some degree.

Have any of the rest of you see this class? Used it?

I prefer simpler solutions to combined classes. Besides, I've never
been a fan of slow XP progressions for uber classes. Here's my take
on the class:

HD: d8
BtH progression: +2/3 levels (+0 at level 1, +1 at level 2, +2 at
level 3, +2 at level 4, +3 at level 5, +4 at level 6, etc)
Armor: Light armor (+3 ac bonus or less) and light shields
Spell Progression: Starts at level 2, I'd slow rate of spell
advancement from wizard chart by cutting advancement by 1/3 (so, for
example, you'd cast as a 9th level wizard at 12th) . I'm at work
right now but, if I get a chance I'll post a pdf soon.

Thanks, Chris. That looks interesting. Definitely brings things back
down to earth a little bit, which is nice. I tend to run low-powered
games.

Here's an arcane warrior that is more warrior than caster.  I'll send you another variant in a little bit.

Here are two versions of a warrior-wizard.  The swordmage is a more adept caster while the arcane warrior is a more able warrior.

Thanks again, Chris. Those are both interesting. I like the
swordmage particularly, though both are more moderate approaches to
the combined class than was the warrior-mage I posted earlier. I'll
print these out for my players to look at.

These are all nice ways to present the class. I would also like to
point out the class-and-a-half option from the PHB 4th print. It would
do nicely for a blended warrior-mage class I think. I haven't
personally had a class-and-a-half character in my game yet, so anyone
who gives this a shot let me know how it goes.

When I pick up the 4th printing I'll definitely have to check that out.  This is the first I've heard of this new option for players and it sounds pretty damn cool!
