Do any of you play in games set in Aihrde? I'm curious how people
like the books relating to that setting. I've seen them on the TLG
site, but I haven't been able to flip through one because they don't
have it at the local store.

It's good ol' Greyhawk for me.

Me too Chris. That's the setting I have always used the most. The
only 3.x setting that really appealed to me was the Iron Kingdoms, by
Privateer Press, though I also found quite a bit I liked in Eberron.
Funny because those two are so different from Greyhawk.

I run a homebrewed setting that is heavily influenced by sword &
sorcery literature. There is also a strong Lovecraftian element to the
setting as well. As for Aihrde It seems like a strong setting from the
materials I have read. If I ever do decide to run a pre-canned setting
I would definitely consider using Aihrde.

Sounds like something I'd enjoy. I'm a big fan of Lovecraft, as well
as of swords and sorcery in the vein of Robert E. Howard, Fritz
Leiber, etc.

If you are interested in cosmic horror infused sword & sorcery you
should check out my blog - Swords Against the Outer Dark. The link is
on my profile. All the game rules and discussion I have presented so
far are geared toward C&C. Enjoy!

Thanks, Mangus. I bookmarked the blog. A lot of good information
there, and some great links. I'm a fan of Clark Ashton-Smith as well.

I see under movies you have the Cthulhu movie. What did you think of
that? I thought it was pretty cool, personally. Better than I
expected it to be.

Thanks for checking it out. I can use the traffic. :-)

I enjoyed CTHULHU very much. I think they nailed the Lovecraftian
atmosphere. The movie was creepy on many levels... despite Tori
Spelling's participation.

Tori Spelling does have the Innsmouth look... so, in that regard, she belonged in the movie.

Being a guy that works closely with TLG, I have run the setting a
couple of times. My normal setting is Goodman Games DCC 35 The Known
Realms. I run this because I cannot possibly do Aihrde justice while
running a game for the guys that actually created the setting. I wasnt
around in the early days so I could not possibly be as familiar with
the setting as the guys I am running the game for are.

Yeah, that would be a bit difficult, wouldn't it? My game is currently
set in a homebrew world, though Aihrde might be an interesting place
for it (or Haunted Highlands).
