I've been keeping an eye on MR3 on github. I have 2 questions
1. is fsprojecteextender required to compile the code from the command line as well as VS? I attempted to build the project yesterday but it failed with over 100 errors stating that MR objects did not exist. I reviewed the build directories and Monorail.dll wasn't there. if i understand F# the modules where not compiled in the right order so the build failed. There don't appear to be any MR3 binaries available at the moment either.

2. Is the core functionality of MR3 stable for production use? I have a large project in the works and I love the simplicity of MR3. I don't want to start the project with MR2 and then convert to MR3.

I read Hammett's post on outstanding issues. it seems the core functionality is there. i could being development without blade or html/js helpers.

The project extender adds some semantic to the project file that I
dont think is understood by MSbuild. So I'm not even sure the project
will compile successfully on cmd line at this time..

I'd be reluctant to encourage using MR3 in unless you're comfortable
with the codebase. We're prioritizing/implementing features as needed,
and anyone embracing would have to be in the same spirit at this time.

Btw, Blade is solid, besides missing some functionality. And it's only
so 'cause we didn't need them so far :-)

I understand the concepts of MR3. It's the syntax I'm not comfortable with yet. I'll continue to watch the project. As I get closer to coding (still gathering conceptual requirements) I'll check back in.

Which syntax specifically? Routing, Controller definitions or helpers?

F#. At first glance I don't follow the syntax. I'm sure I could pick it up if I sat down to learn the language though.
