nvelocity array syntax

This is the closest group I could find for this question, and am new
to .Net and Castle.

I have a collection object that implements the ICollection and IList
interfaces. I am unable to express an index of the collection in
NVelocity via any kind of $collection[0] or $collection.0 syntax.

Is there a correct array syntax or is there a method that can be
called to get an index of the collection?
