Hey all,

We're phasing out youtrack hosting on our server. Is someone up to host it instead?

Castle should qualify for their standard  free InCloud hosting:

Anyone get get free hosting from them with a 10-user limit.  They suggest open source projects get a higher level for free (without going into details)

Could someone look into that? I'm really constraining the amount of time I devote to castle these days (near 0)

I could shoot them an email. But as far as I can recall there's someone on the list that has been in contact with JB for some time, if that person want to contact them them, please ping back.

Once we get the hosted server running, someone with admin access to the existing instance should be generating a backup of the existing DB and have it sent over to them. based on http://confluence.jetbrains.com/display/YTD3/Migrating+from+YouTrack+Standalone+to+YouTrack+InCloud it should be an easy thing to get it moved.
then DNS update, and everything should be back on track.

I was in contact with Hadi Hariri when we moved to YouTrack when I was writing the migration script to convert the donjon database and get our open source standalone license organised.

Ken, I'm happy to get in contact with them if you'd like.

I have contacted JetBrains and will relay their response once I receive it.

Hammett, are you planning to continue hosting the main site and wiki, or should we be organising another host for them? I know we've already spoken about moving the ScrewTurn wiki content elsewhere since it is a deadend product, just thinking very short term at the moment.

Yep, those are not resource intensive as youtrack.

Thanks

OK, I've got the go ahead from JetBrains.

Hammett are you able to start up YouTrack on your VM temporarily so I can get a backup, feel free to take the backup yourself as per this page and shut it back down. While you've got it running can you note the version we are running.

Many thanks Henry.

I've created and downloaded a backup so you can stop it again.

I'll be sure to let you know once we've got the new instance going, and for you to set up a CNAME.

We've had our YouTrack InCloud instance available for a few days. I sorted out the email not working issue with support, and was hoping to sort out something with the prefix which I'll describe, but for now I think we should just get DNS set up.

The instance is located at, and the CNAME should point to the hostname:
http://castleproject.myjetbrains.com/

To explain the pending issue, YouTrack InCloud requires a "/youtrack" prefix likely so they can host other products with the same subdomain. This isn't really a problem and I'm sure we'll live with the broken URLs, but what is a problem is that if you visit the old URLs you'll get a "YouTrack maintenance in progress. We are currently updating the server." page rather than a 404, or a redirect to the home page. I'm hoping we'll get something resolved on this front soon, but we might as well get the instance running.

Henry or Hammett, could you please update DNS for the "issues" subdomain. Thanks.
