While Remote Assistance establishes a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) connection to the end user's computer (requires TCP port 3389 to be opened on the client machine and the firewall/NAT/router behind which the machine is), Quick Assist is cloud-based and requires one outbound connection from the helper's PC to the cloud service/Microsoft server, and a separate connection from the cloud service to the machine of the person getting assistance. There are no ports opened on the client device's firewall.
Problem with this script is also that it says it removes the old version and installed the new version successfully, and when i look with get-package.... it also states that quick assist package is installed, but it is not in the startmenu anymore....
We do not have a Sophos XG, we just have the Sophos software which is blocking quick assist. This is new it was working fine up until a week or more. I have whitelisted on Sophos the web paths that Sophos accesses but issue still persists. When I switch off web control it works.
There is no error displayed - quick assist just remains "connecting" - when I switch off web control on the 2 computers trying to connect it works. In the logs section there nothing that shows that its being blocked.
We will also look at the steps to enable remote assistance on a Windows server by adding the feature using the Server Manager. This is applicable when you want to turn on remote assistance on a single machine.
Its not working on windows server 2022 and Windows 10. After run command Runas session screen goes blank at Administrator side so its helpless to administrator to support users through MSRA tool. Earlier it was working fine with windows server 2k8 and win 7 OS
