Dear All,

Here is the email I sent to the Needy Heart Foundation about an old man I recently met. If anyone can help either in the form of information or in the form of donations, it will be greatly helpful. This man has no form of income at all, and is struggling even for medicines. 

As my contribution, I am paying for his medicines every month from this month onwards. 

Will anyone help? or help me help by finding out from your friends or any NGO's u know?

Dear Sir,

A distant relative of mine, Mr.Radhakrishna Moorthy, aged 65yrs as of now, has been advised to perform two open-heart surgeries - one for a valve replacement, and the other a by-pass operation due to a block. He was already operated upon once in 1994 for a valve-replacement, where a metal valve was put in his heart. 

Even though he was advised by Dr.N.V.N.Varma, Cardiothoracic Surgeon from Care Hospitals, Hyderabad, almost 1 year ago to get operated immediately, he has been unable to do so due to absolute lack of funds. The patient also has no children, and therefore finds himself in the middle of a crisis with no one to support him.

I request you to let me know what documents I need to produce in order show proof of income and in order to show that he is a genuine and needy patient for your service.. The patient took Voluntary Retirement from a non-pensionable job after his first surgery in 1994, at the age of 50 years, and has had no job since then for the last 15 years, and therefore no substantial savings or income. The patient satisfies the criteria of being a senior citizen, of having no substantial source of income, and of needing urgent medical care due to ailments of the heart.

I have attached a photocopy of a letter from Care Hospitals, Hyderabad, stating his clinical condition and the estimation of costs at their hospital. I will send the documents u tell me to send, as soon as i recieve the information from you about what documents are needed to be sent.

Any help will be greatly, greatly, greatly appreciated as the patient is in such a horrible financial status that even money to buy medicines has become a battle and struggle for him.
