Terry Fox was a Canadian athlete who had bone cancer and as a result
one of his legs had to be amputated.
In spite of this, he set off on a 5300 Km run across Canada from the Pacific to the Atlantic coast, to collect funds for cancer research, which he called the “
Marathon of Hope”.
But, why run?
Every year the "Terry Fox run" is held in 53 countries with over 600 event sites and the
money collected is used for cancer research. Till date
$400 Million has been raised for Cancer Research through these marathons.
For the FIRST time, Terry Fox Run is being held in Chennai and we need to show our solidarity towards this cause!
