It might have something to do with that you don't have the right font. Try looking at this on how to register new fonts, and at the same time you can check if the folder exists and there are fonts in there. If there aren't try finding + installing a few default versions (Arial, Times New Roman, Verdana).

Seeing that we are now beginning to see signs of the Third Chapter Paradox on the horizon, and subsequently the final product of the game that we will be working with... I think now is the time to start talking about How to mod the game.

To which, I can't help but notice there is nothing on the wiki site that seems to talk about how to do so. We have sections and tutorials on the site for how to create side stories for the first entry of the game, but as far as I know nothing for Paradox. Except for a few guides for how to translate the game posted in the blog.

Now for all I know there is some kind of legal reason for why we don't talk about modding Paradox, but it could just as well be that I am Sole Person in the Universe who actually knows how to mod the game. And as such it would be a travesty to continue sitting on that knowledge when I could be spreading that information out to the wider comunity.

To begin with: Its actually quite "Easy" to do, and by using my methods all you really need is a dependable text editor and the Ytinasni.RpgMaker.Translator.exe. So by that definition, most of us are already started modding the game technically to some extent. However I have also figured out by fiddling around with the code, copy and pasteing, and lots of trial and error you add things like: custom cut-in animations, cheese the game by adding items to your inventory, arbitrarily add skills races and abilities to any actor, or even add your own ero scenes to the requestible menu of any given actor.

But, to be honest, I have no idea if there is something horribly wrong to my methods either. I don't know if I'm slowly adding instability issues to the game by injecting new lines of code into the translator or whatever, and I have broken my game on several occasions in and various ways. (Never to the point of losing my saves irreparably damaging however.) All I know is that when the modding does work, It just works.

Anyways the reason I'm posting this here in the Help Desk is because I've never really participated in a wiki before and don't know the edict or processes behind posting content. Also I havent actually written any guides yet and thought this would be a nice quiet place for the powers that be to shut me down now before things get out of hand.

Any thoughts or sugestions reguarding how to post the guides, the format they should take, the content they should cover (or to be explicitly avoided) would be apreciated. In turn I will atempt to adress any questions regarding the topic of modding paradox here while we try to get the Paradox Modding Comunity jump started.

That said, I'm still at a lose as to how Paradox Mods should by organized on the site. We have a Side Stories section for creative content made for the origional game, but Paradox Mods (which I see as being in similar scope yet distinct) could be listed in their own separate directory. But the nuances of this site's organization are beyond me, and the task might be better handled by some with more experience than myself. I'll leave the discussion of site organization to the wider comunity.

In regards to the Modders Guide itself, I am thinking of breaking the guide down to three seperate walkthroughs. Each of which will intermittently expose the reader to differnt aspects of the games internal organization, while leading them through some greater objective. These objectives being what I see as three differnt tasks which may be of interest to the prospective modder. I'm thinking that the three guides (which as yet to be written) shall be:

Paradox Modders Guide No.1: FOR GREAT JUSTICE! Which will teach the modder how to revise the SkillWords(Actor) script in order to add their own text lines and cut in animations, while also introducing the various files in the script translator folder and provide some tips and tricks for making sense of their content.

Paradox Modders Guide No.2: Cheesing the Game, In Style! Shall expose the modder to some of the obscure internal comands found in the game files, and demonstrate how those comands can be manipulated towards your own ends. Permiting one to teach any arbitrary skill to any give charictor or to give yourself any desired item.

Paradox Modders Guide No.3: Radio's Panty Play! The final walkthrough will then teach the modder how to create, insert, and implement custom Ero Scenes into the game, as well as the various critera you can give them in game.

I'm planning to post the guides in the Tutorial Section of the site as they are completed and will announce their completion via a blog entry that I will be posting once I have something to actually show. Until that time any questions regarding the guides can be asked here, but it is my thinking that this page may serve as a larger discussion for how the the site should handle this kind of user made content.

I can't quite seem to unlock Dragon scale equipment for Papi's blacksmith quest, I already have the dragon ore(or dragon scale fossil in the translation I'm using), as well as the fighter's badge from the colosseum. Every time I bring papi to the grand noah blacksmith I don't get any new dialogue even when I have both items already. For reference I'm already at the part after the Lady village in terms of story progression.

So yeah I can't find this Gloria I have gotten Tatsuko finished the assult on the 4 countries in fact I have gathered all of the colored orbs already for garuda and the pirate ship still has not appeared. I have talked to everybody in the navy already and it's stil not there. idk what i am missing considering I have done everything already like talking to tatsuko putting her in the party and going east and it is still not there.

I found a fix on my own, I hope this helps anyone trying to play this game as it surely helped me. I didn't need to do any of the steps listed on WineHQ's AppDB nor do anything using Winetricks (I'm using Wine 3.21 on Manjaro XFCE 18.0 Stable 64 bit). The bug seems to be caused by the JP locale not being enabled and missing windows fonts. You can fix this by editing your Linux/Mac system to enable the Japanese UTF-8 Locale (I did this on my system by editing one of the lines in /etc/locale.gen from

although the command(s) for selecting wine's locale on your system may differ. The fonts need to be copied from a Windows Installation to Linux/Mac (I did this by copying from my Windows 10 Installation from C:/Windows/Fonts to /usr/share/fonts/WindowsFonts)

So, I finished now part 2. After losing to Alice, I don't get the question to save everything. Without that, I can't use my part 2 savegame in part 3, which is kind a problem. And I don't want to play part 1 and 2 again, to continue with part 3. I hope somebody can help me either with solving the problem witht the missing save question or with providing me a savegame that starts right with the "Cupid" fight.

So i got this problem before on part 1, that a blackout got me midgame, and upon opening the game the save wouldnt show but the save itself is there on the save file, to fix it i had to copy the save folder, reinstall the game and paste and replace the save folder there would work again.

But now i got a blackout on part 2, tried to do the same thing, but since i need to do data convertion and save transfer from part 1 i dont get how to properly do it. I managed to conserve my game save and got all my monsterpedia and records from part 1, but all the progress and records i did till my current save on part 2 is gone, i would have to start over part 2 to complete the monsterpedia now, any way to fix this? Get all my part 2 monsterpedia back?

Everytime I launch the game the text is unreadable, like someone randomly hit their spacebar while typing(screenshot attached). I have tried a couple of things to fix this like changing my region to japanese, but that didn't help.

Whenever I reach the moment in a cutscene in part 3 where vampire Carmilla is supposed to reveal herself to Sabasa King game freezes, I get a pop up with an information from the title and finally game shuts down.

I already tried opening it as an administrator reinstalling, using applocale , changing my locale, installing bug fixing patch and starting it in compatibility mode with windows XP Service Packs 2 and 3.

I was wondering if I purchase part 1 will we get parts 2 and 3 later as well or are those seperate purchases? I'm thinking You buy the first and gewt the rest because it's incomplete but I just want to make sure.

OK so I'm trying to get this game working under wine and I saw that I was getting the same error as this guy. All I need to know to fix it is the proper name of the font the game uses for dialogue boxes I think? Does anyone know that?Krt12014368 (talk) 22:44, May 1, 2017 (UTC)

Hello everyone, I have a problem with the origional game, it was working fine that past few years when suddenly a few months ago it was having this overlay text problem, I check with Rogue, and it wasn't that since I already have the east asian file installed, so I don't know what to do....

Through out part 3, i couldnt use both Omega Blaze and the Frost one, i dont remember the name atm. whenever i did use them the game would crash upon trying to add damage. I ignored it at the time, concidering they wherent that useful anyways...but i didnt know that Omega Blaze was a Crucial/Scripted part of the fight against Eden later on. so im looking for help due to the fact that the most recent english patch doesnt fix it and no-one online seems to have had a similar problem. Help please? i would like to be able to finish the story

This is less of a "I NEED HELP!" and more of a "Just letting you know". I'm going to be making my own 100% save (minus the achievements) for the combined Monster Girl Quest (parts 1 and 2 combined with part 3). When it's done, I'll link it here for people to use, as well as instructions. The thing is, I'm not used to using things like hex editors to edit save files, and I was wondering if there was a way to get rid of records (death counts, etc.) without damaging the monsterpedia entries. I've never used a hex editor before, so if someone could please walk me through how to accomplish this, that'd be great. Oh, or, if it's just one of the ".sav" files, could you tell me which I need to replace with a fresh copy and/or delete? Thanks in advance! JerryWester (talk) 12:51, July 7, 2016 (UTC)
