Later, Nagaraj proposes to Lakshmi but she refuses saying that he is unambitious and irresponsible while she aspires to become an engineer. She again starts addressing Nagaraj formally in order to suppress his feelings for her. Dejected, Nagaraj confides in Srinu and Abhi. Abhi also explains that Paru has not been in contact for a while and convinces Srinu and Nagaraj to help him talk to Paru. That night the trio sneaks over to Gold-phase and Abhi manages to talk to Paru. She explains that she is not confident enough to spend a lifetime with him and is not ready to marry him. But when Abhi asks if her affection towards Abhi was just a Gold-phase plan to hurt Abhi, she slaps him, indicating that she truly loved him.

it's jungle out there. just in case
The story of the film revolves around the B phase block of Sunshine colony. Srinu (Abhijith) and his sisters Sathya(Rashmi) and Chinni are sent to stay with their maternal grandparents and uncle by their mother (Amala), who has to go away for an extended period of time. They soon become thick friends with Abhi (Kaushik) and Nagraj (Sudhakar) and go about their daily life, experiencing small joys.
Srinu and his sisters have recently moved in to Sunshine Colony to stay with their grandfather. Nagaraju, Lakshmi, Madhu and Abhi, who later become Srinu's best friends, also reside in the colony, which is home to several families, both rich and poor. The rich in the colony have an upper hand over the poor and this leads to constant rivalry. The rest of the story takes us through the lives of these six youngsters, who despite having problems of their own, find moments that make life beautiful.
Although, Sekhar succeeds in capturing some memorable moments of life in a colony, which most of us don't get to experience in our small, private apartments, but on the whole, his direction is weak and aimless.
Happiness is fleeting. It flits in and out of our days like a bird, singing a beautiful song that we want to revel in all our life, for one moment while the sky is blue, not to be found on the days with dark clouds, heavy winds, and gray skies.
A friend like you is more priceless than the most beautiful diamond. You are not only strong and wise, but kind and thoughtful as well. Your birthday is the perfect opportunity to show you much I care and how grateful I am to have you in my life.
Why is life beautiful?
Because it has ups and downs, dreams to chase, friends to share moments and many more.
Well, the film is all about these mixed feelings. And Sekhar Kammula chose to show case all these from the view of a young guy who shifts to city, into his relatives house, along with his sisters. In the course of the film he makes friends, involves in street fights, faces problems, learns to take responsibilities and also experiences love.
The whole movie is set in the back drop of a gated community divided into a rich phase, called the Gold phase and a middle class one, the B phase.
The director some how seems to be obsessed with the "rich-poor conflicts" among the youngsters of the two phases and creates a lot of situations for them to fight upon. The whole movie starts moving in that direction and our hero and his friends starts failing in their efforts to be on par with their rich counterparts.
Suddenly the story takes a turn as the Hero learns about the ensuing tragedy in his family and Mr. Hero realizes that life is about more important things like studies and career. He then cracks a very tough interview and everything falls in place automatically and miraculously!! Even the bad rich guys realize that happiness is not about money which he comes and confesses to the hero. And we are clueless as to why?
Coming to casting all are new faces and they fit to their roles except Kaushik (abhi). His character reminds us of Tyson from happy days and comparatively he has done a very bad job. Amala makes a screen appearance after a very long time, but her role is very brief. Anjala javeri is very beautiful even after so many years. Shreya looks amazing on the screen, but has not much role to play. Abhijeet in the lead role did a decent job. Shagun Kaur as paddu is very beautiful and did a good job. Sudhakar who played nagaraju is worth a special mention. He suits the role perfectly and has good acting skills.
Music is good especially the background score. The song lyrics are not up-to the mark, but the picturization of songs is very lively in the usual Sekhar style.
The movie drags on for 3 hours for no reason. The story fails to impress but some dialogues have the punch and entertain. The script is not very strong and there are many loose ends. Lots of characters add to the confusion in the storyline. For all the expectations aroused for a Sekhar Kammula film it disappoints and does not belong to the league of his previous good films.
Although it is true that there is suffering in the world, but in the moments when the sun shines on a winter sky, when the birds sing together, or the streams flow forevermore, and the flowers bloom their colorful faces, life is beautiful.
An Oscar-winner for Best Actor and Best Foreign Film, LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL is a fable is about a father's love for his wife and son in the midst of the Holocaust. Writer/director Roberto Benigni stars as a Chaplinesque character who charms a beautiful teacher by creating a world of gentle magic around them. But then Benigni and his wife and child are sent to a concentration camp. To protect his son's life, he teaches him to hide from the guards during the day. To protect his son's heart, he constructs an elaborate fantasy that they are participating in a very difficult contest to win the ultimate prize, a real tank. And his son finds that this make sense, and he goes along with it.
We often see in life and in movies that people react to extreme adversity by magnifying whatever sense of control they have left -- think of Mrs. Van Dam's focus on her coat in The Diary of Anne Frank, absurd in light of the fact that they never go outside, so she has no real need for a coat, but important because somehow she has chosen the coat as a place to locate her sense of herself as not having lost everything. In Life is Beautiful, the father focuses on his special talent for creating a feeling of magic to protect his son from the worst reality of the Holocaust, the sense of utter betrayal. Very importantly, he gives his son a sense of control, by letting him think that he has made the choice to participate in the contest. And knowing that he has kept his child's faith intact gives him a sense of control, and purpose, that keeps him going.
