I have created a little app (similar to tsadmin) using Cassia and
managed to get the properties I need however I can not figure out how
to get the name of the application

Any ideas how I can get the application name for a session?

Phil,

If you're referring to the RemoteApp application name for a session, you can fetch that using ITerminalServicesSession.ApplicationName.

This property is only available on trunk builds (see issue 16). The trunk is quite stable, so if you'd like, you can grab the latest build from the build server (login as a guest and use the artifacts link) and give it a shot.

Hi,

I am having a liitle trouble with session.ApplicationName.

ApplicationName pulls back the published application name perfect on
my Windows 2003 servers however it does not return anything for my
2008 R2 servers.

Is this a known issue? any ideas how I can get around it?

Thanks
Phil

I'm a bit puzzled by your comment that ApplicationName returns the published application name correctly on Windows Server 2003 servers, since RemoteApp was only introduced in Windows Server 2008. Are you using a Citrix product?

Apologies for the confusion,

Yes, I am using Citrix XenApp, Cassia returns the published App name
fine for my Citrix servers on 2003 but returns a blank for my Citrix
servers on 2008 R2.

Is this out of scope for Cassia?

Thanks
Phil

Phil,

Yes, this is out of scope for Cassia. Citrix technology had much in common with Windows Remote Desktop Services back in the day when Microsoft licensed Citrix technology to incorporate into NT 4, but their products and APIs have gradually diverged since then. I imagine Citrix has an API you can fetch this information from.
