Since our last Bulletin from January we have not sent any news but this not means we are not working!!

  •          We have been working in a document that explains the code and the corresponding equations for the cassava model in DSSAT. After we finish the document we will contact all of you with interest in testing the model or provide useful information to do it.

  •       The non-destructive methodology is being tested in 4 trials in Colombia with a validation in CIAT (Cali). Also, Victor Garcia from “Universidad Central de Venezuela” is planning to use the methodology in his trials.  We will work in the translation of the document (currently it is in Spanish) to work with other members of the group with interest in this methodology.

  •        Thinking in the best way to share the code and considering the informal networking organizational structure of the Cassava CMIT,  we have created a branch called “cassava-modifications” from the master branch of DSSAT-CSM code which is in GitHub. GitHub is a program of an open source version control system (VCS) called Git. Our idea when DSSAT 4.6 officially release as open source is to work with GitHub and our branch to allow users to modify the model code for their own requirements and also contribute in the improvement of the model.
