Let's have a lunch meeting this Saturday to sync up. I would also like to introduce Dr. Kwok Wu who is the head of Freescale embedded software/systems to our group.

Kwok, Lide couple, Lijun, Xiaokang and Haoxing attended this meeting. We made following plan for the future:

1) Kwok agrees to help out as an advisor to CASPA.
2) we will start arrange monthly seminar. One proposal is to host it in the first Thursday evening of the month at Freescale Oak Hill. Kwok can help secure the conference room. The other proposal is to co-host seminar with IEEE communication chapter .They have regular monthly seminars at ATT Lab at great hill. We can simply reserve the end of session as our own networking time. Kwok will work on that as well.
3) we will have our first monthly seminar on 12/4 at Freescale Auditorium. Kwok will talk about either Internet of Things or software defined network.
4) Lijun will organize informal events such as dinners, outgoings, parties for CASPA. The time and location is flexible. The goal is to provide a flexible networking experience.
5) We will try connect with Lisa Su to give a talk in our monthly seminar. Anyone can help?
6) Please feel free to arrange seminar speakers. We need a pipeline of the speakers.
7) we will look for opportunities to host parties from China.

Hi Kwok, 

Thank you for quick actions.

1. Last Thur is fine with us. If we can extend the room to 8:30 then we can use 8:00-8:30 for CASPA networking. I know IEEE typically provide food for meetings, would  CASPA member entitled to enjoy it as well? Once we invite our own speakers, can we also ask IEEE to co-host the event so we can use ATT lab room? We do not have regular budget like IEEE, so we might not be able to share much expenses with IEEE, but if needed, we can discuss as well. 

2. Tue Nov 25 is fine, can you reserve the Freescale Auditorium for that time?

3. We can certainly extend the invitation for the Prof Lin's talk to CASPA. Is it possible to announce it as co-hosted by CASPA and reserve time for CASPA networking at end? Since it will be hold in Dec, we can forward the announcement later.

The AT&T Lab conf. room is reserved for IEEE COMSOC 6:30pm-8pm, usually 6:30pm to 7pm is social networking, 7pm-8pm is presentation,

I requested Fawzi to check if we can extend the room to 8:30pm,

so CASPA may use the 8pm-8:30pm for CASPA social networking? (what do you think?)

 

2. For my 1st CASPA presentation on (IOT & SDN), could that be Tue Nov 25 (since Thur Nov 27 is Thanksgiving)

 

3. IEEE COMSOC also has a special invited speaker from Taiwan on Fri Dec 12 (already previously arranged),

Fawzi and I can also extend this invitation to the CASPA engineers for Fri Dec 12, 6pm-8pm

3. I will reserve Tue Nov 25 is fine at the Freescale Parmer Auditorium for the Attached presentation topic  on “Smart Collaborative IOT” By Fawzi Behmann and Kwok Wu, I will reserve the Freescale Parmer Auditorium.

 

4. Friday Dec 12, 6pm to 8pm at AT&T Lab is extended to CASPA for the Prof Lin's SDN talk to CASPA, which includes time for CASPA networking. (I mean 6pm to 8pm does not have IEEE attendees)

When will you announce it as co-hosted to CASPA members?, so we get some ideas on CASPA attendees and inform Prof. Lin.
