Dear CASPA Austin advisors/officers,

I would like to invite all of you to come to dinner at Asian Cafe on Dec 30, 6pm. This is our official annual meeting (so CASPA pays dinner). We will discuss what we have achieved in 2013 and plan for 2014. Please make your best effort to attend.

Can you make it on holiday or weekend? Dec 30 is Monday, a work day for me. I live in the South. I cannot get there at 6pm because of the daily heavy traffic on Mopac.

12/29/2013 CASPA Austin Chapter Annual Officer Meeting

Attendees:

Jiao Chen, Samuel Pan, Jian Tao, Xiao Chen, Haoxing Ren

Activities done in 2013:

1. Established Linkedin group with 69 members so far.

2. Networking event in Oct (20+ attending). Story appeared in "Austin Weekend"

3. Joint networking event with Chinese Commercial Chamber and ACPS (20+ attending) in Dec. Story appeared in "Austin Weekend"

4. Carnage Communication Workshop (cancelled due to low registration)

Following plans for next year are discussed:

1. Job fair will be our most important activity in the next year. Samuel Pan, Lide Duan will lead the operation, Xiao Chen will help out to advertise in her school. We will need help from everyone to recruit companies locally soon.

2. Jiao Chen and Jian Tao will lead the delegation activities: including delegation to China and hosting delegation from China.

3. We still need people to cover networking/seminar activities, we also need an IT person to cover website/mailinglist/groups.

4. We invite people in senior management or senior technical leadership positions to join our advisory board. If you know any of them in your company or friend circle, please help us to invite them. Let me know who you will invite in advance.

5. We need to seek company sponsorship for our organization. Some companies have the policy to contribute some money to the non profit organization their employee serves. Please seek out those opportunities. Talk to me if you are interested.

We have a great start this year and looking forward to working with all of you next year!
