Does anyone knows ways to speed up video speed on ipad? I know there is a play speed shortcut for safari, however it doesn't always work. My main use case is to speed up Udemy's videos for like 3x speed. The shortcut method I mentioned works well for youtube video in safari, but I get no audio for udemy's recordings when getting to 3x speed.

The extension ua-site-switch, which admittedly has a rather confusing interface, can be used to send specific user agent strings to different sites. To find Chrome's UA string you could search for it or load this page in Chrome (the UA is in red):

cor-el, if I link direct to the video I can get it to function as well. However, udemy.com support states that Firefox is not compatible, which I presume has something to do with how they are wrapping/embedding the video.

I cannot figure out how to debug my simple extension. Script (a content script) loads (because the first console.log call shows in the tab's console) but then nothing. There's no error what so ever and no second console.log call.

My question is not about solving my code issue (there surely is one, if only firefox would tell me where), it's about finding the place where warnings/errors about the add-on are in firefox (like 'sdfsdf has no object property ...')

Attempting to play a udemy.com video and message appears in playback area, " Video error
We tried several times to play your video but there was an unforeseen error. We have notified our engineers. Visit -player.html to check that Flash is enabled on your browser."
The Adobe Flash Player is installed via software,
Flash player is enabled in FireFox extensions. Should I see it in plugins?
I think I have what I need, but I am obviously missing something.

Currently there in no "Browser Privacy & Security" code affecting network requests or rendered webpage, so I'm not sure, how it can affect performance over browser responsiveness. If you notice any (unusual) slowdown, try to reload page with enabled/disabled extension (just turn it on/off in about:addons).

click on Start recording, reload website again with enabled extension, then press Capture recording and look for a performance hit caused by extension. Below is an example of report using Ghostery - you can see extension icon, extension name and percentage of performance hit from captured timeframe.

The Media Keys add-on does not work in Firefox version 57, because thedevelopers have decided to remake Firefox into a Chrome clone. For November 2017, they have announced their intention to drop in Firefox 57their current add-on format, now called "Legacy", in favor of WebExtensions, which in plain English are very similar to Google Chrome extensions.

Mozilla's Andy McKay decided to find out in November 2016. He parsed the Chrome store sitemap and got 100,000 extensions, apps and themes out of it which he analyzed to find out how many of them will run in Firefox.

According to his findings, about 76% of Chrome extensions of the sample size will run in Firefox. The remaining extensions either miss one or more APIs, one or more permissions, or one or more manifest.
