download the zip pack from Imgur: The magic of the Internet chosee the right pack for your device, and rename the pack to (update.zip) , use configure gapps installation optional select local file, then install.
I have downloaded x86_64, Android 9, pico (because my PC is x64 with Intel core i3 and the Android version of FydeOS 14.2 is 9) but when I load it in the configurator to install it still gives error. Do I need an extra file? because I tried copying one of the links in the download error and when I opened it in a browser, it downloaded a sh file. This is the link
Device is one plus one, but so far I have only tried rooting COS because the gapps came pre installed. This its CM14.1 but GAPPS is from third party and not directly from google but then again I have a question if every day a new NIGHTLY is released then do I have to also keep flashing GAPPS to the latest version (for ex : opengapps) or will it keep updating from Play Store.
I am actually planning to go for a STOCK package of Gapps and going to use CM14.1 NIGHTLIES as daily driver following with updating it only once in a week instead of daily. I have read that CM14.1 NIGHTLIES are stable for daily usage.
As a result, I assembled an image with gapps. But from the applications assembly (gapps.mk) I had to exclude Chrome (an error occurs) and, just in case, YouTube. But this is not a problem, they can be installed later. Hope my experience helps others.
second :
start the Pi3 with Emteria.OS, when it's start plug your usb.
open the usb via the upper side of you screen.
press a long time on the gapps.zip file and copy past to Download folder.
eject your usb.
third :
Use the Shutdown preinstalled app and go to RECOVERY.
in the recovery menu , use "install" an go to the download folder. select your gapps.zip file.
and clic on install from zip.
select reboot after install.
wait and
I wouldn't recommend installing anything but the pico package, as most of the apps have crazy memory requirements, which can be hardly satisfied by RPi3. In any case, after the installation the system will do some optimizations in the background. Sometimes it takes up to 30 or 60 minutes until everything is set (pico package).
I installed Emteria.os on my RPi3 successfully. As I wanted to install GApps, I followed the instructions above but, when I rebooted after installing from recovery menu, the RPi didn't make it past the Emteria loading screen. It's been stuck there for 20minutes or so now with just the animation running and activity light (small green LED) on the Pi flashing irregularly.
@Igor,
How to use gapps-config.txt?
It should be renamed to gapps-config?
I didn't install gapps yet since i upgraded to Emteria v0.5.5
Is it possible to exclude everything except Google Play services?
@roxette, this is exactly what the file does. It prevents people from installing tons of huge applications. There is nothing to do for you - in our tests the OpenGApps installer detects this file automatically and applies the configuration. Here is the documentation: -Features-and-Options
@Smitty, we have no clue why this is happening. As I have mentioned in another thread, emteria.OS and recovery are using the same kernel to boot. Any chance you can provide us your logs ( _Serial_Connection)?
I can confirm that I followed the OpenGApps installation instructions that Jonas gave and it worked. I did try downloading GApps through emteriaOS as Kalkov suggested but the download failed multiple times. Just as Kalkov mentions, there is a period after starting the play store for the first time that everything is VERY slow but after a period of about 5 min. after the first reboot.
I installed fine today using the gapps.sh from github and pico however playstore always crashes. Having said that it crashes on nearly every android image I tried. keeps going in circles saying it has stopped working.
Hi to all,
as for today the Recovery menu of the latest Emteria for RPI4 doesn't have the "Install" option anymore.
Please, can someone give me some advice on what to do to install GApps?
Thanks a lot!
I have successfully used ADB over "Ethernet" (although, it's really WiFi), but I am unable to sideload any zip files. I can do a normal adb install of an .apk, but to sideload you need to be in the recovery menu, when you enter that menu, you can no longer connect/talk to the Pi through ADB (I have tried Wifi, Direct USB connection and Ethernet cable)
In other words, we need someone outside of Emteria to lay this out. Is there a custom recovery available for Emteria that will get around these limitations? Or what version of Emteria should I install so I can actually do something with GApps?
The /usr/gapps file system contain user-supported files that are shared with a number of users, such as applications codes, files used to execute these codes, and source codes maintained or used by a group of LC users.
While the first level of items in /usr/gapps (e.g., /usr/gapps/mydir) are created by LC staff, the contents of the files and subdirectories within /usr/gapps are maintained by LC customers, not LC staff. Users can request changes to items within the /usr/gapps file system by contacting the user who is responsible for (i.e., owner of) the /usr/gapps directory or file.
To request creation of a subdirectory or file in the /usr/gapps directory, the USER_GAPPS form (PDF) must be completed and signed by the requester. The requester must obtain the appropriate authorizing signatures. After the form is complete, send it to LC Customer Services (Hotline).
When the LC Customer Services receives /usr/gapps forms, the authorizations and information are verified and then Customer Services staff will create the requested /usr/gapps files or directories. The requester is then notified that the requested files or directories are ready for use.
If a collection of related files is required, we recommend that a subdirectory within /usr/gapps be requested. For example, the requester or owning group may maintain /usr/gapps/mydir, by creating further subdirectories and files within the mydir subdirectory.
/usr/gapps is a single central file system provided by an NFS server to all LC production systems. It is used by requesters or groups to share platform independent files, for example source code, makefiles, scripts used to execute a job, or data files. It may also be useful for software packages installed on multiple architectures (such as GNU packages).
/usr/gapps is NOT to be used as backup or archival storage, nor as a directory or file for one user to use. These directories provide a more appropriate alternative for group sharing than use of a single individual's home directory for sharing.
LC will control and own the top level of /usr/gapps files and subdirectories. The name and user ownership of top level files and directories (e.g., /usr/gapps/mydir) cannot be changed by the owner or members of the owning group.
Other attributes, such as group ownership and access permissions, may be changed by the owner or members of the owning group, who are responsible for insuring that no inappropriate access is allowed. The original group approver (signer of the USR_GAPPS form) will be made aware that the owner of the directory or files may modify group ownership and access permissions.
Subdirectories and files within /usr/gapps/mydir can be added, deleted, and modified (including permissions) by the owner, and possibly by anyone in the owning group (depending on the access privileges).
World access permissions are not allowed for any file or directory in /usr/gapps, unless the UNIX World Permissions Exemption Form (see forms page for current download) has been completed and approved, and submitted to the LC Hotline. The requester must obtain signature approval from their Programmatic Associate Director. periodic scan enforces this policy.
All access to /usr/gapps and their subdirectories is limited to members of the us_cit group (via the ownership and access permissions set on those file systems). Within the /usr/gapps directories, access may be specified using the UNIX access permissions, e.g., by specifying access for owner, group or all members of us_cit group. The LC Customer Services staff automatically adds all United States citizens to the us_cit group.
Gastric adenocarcinoma and proximal polyposis of the stomach (GAPPS) is an autosomal dominant syndrome caused by germlinepathogenic variants in promoter 1B of the APCgene. Of note, large deletions involving promoter 1B of the APC gene are associated with a different syndrome called familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP). GAPPS was first described in 2012. This syndrome is characterized by numerous stomach polyps (predominantly fundic gland polyps in the body and fundus of the stomach, sparing the antrum), with regions of dysplasia. GAPPS is not typically associated with colorectal polyposis. The risk of intestinal-type gastric adenocarcinoma appears to be significantly elevated in GAPPS, but the exact risk of this is currently unknown.
GAPPS and FAP are both caused by pathogenic or likely pathogenic variants in the APC gene, but they are distinct syndromes with different clinical characteristics. In GAPPS, polyposis and cancer risk are primarily confined to the stomach, while in FAP, polyposis and cancer risk are elevated in the colon. FAP is a hereditary cancer syndrome characterized by colorectal polyposis and a 93% risk of colorectal adenocarcinoma. Pathogenic or likely pathogenic variants in promoter 1B of the APC gene are pathognomonic of GAPPS and do not lead to FAP. In contrast, FAP is caused by germline pathogenic variants elsewhere in the APC gene or large deletions in promoter 1B. For more information about FAP, refer to the FAP section in Genetics of Colorectal Cancer.
Environmental risk factors have not been reported to cause or modify the penetrance of GAPPS. Although studies have speculated that there is an inverse relationship between gastric neoplasia and Helicobacter pylori infection, further research is warranted to clarify how H. pylori impacts gastric neoplasia in individuals with GAPPS.
