Gentleman,
As you may or may not know, Patrick Linehan has recently suffered from Stage 4 heart failure at the end of March. Among damage to his heart, he also was diagnosed with BOOP which created a major lung problem simultaneously. I won't go into the medical details as I am not a doctor, but, in short, Patrick is lucky to be alive today, is still very ill, and will be undergoing some very significant, longterm medical treatments and potentially procedures. Currently the right side of his heart has been improving since the failure but the left side is still failing to pump. He currently has to wear a defibrillator vest and will be having an internal defibrillator surgically implanted. He will then be placed on a list for both heart and lung transplant.
Patrick’s dear friend Dylan Richey who some of you may or not know has set up a great page to gather contributions to assist with the overwhelming burden of medical bills that will be prevalent unfortunately for the foreseeable future.
Patrick's Medical Fund This email is not meant in any way to pressure you to contribute to the pool but rather to make you aware of Patrick's condition and give you the opportunity to contribute to the collective effort to help out Patrick. Obviously, feel free to help Patrick outside of this effort if you wish.
I certainly cherish my relationship with Patrick and with you all, and I know that you feel the same way about Patrick.
Thanks for reading. I know Patrick appreciates your thoughts/prayers and support. Feel free to call/text my cell
(404-277-0834) if you have questions/concerns or want to catch up (I love catching up).
Feel free to pass this email to anyone I missed (I don't have everyone's emails these days, so I know I left a lot of folks out). I am not presently going to socially network (i.e. Facebook or otherwise) this effort, as it's meant for close friends of Patrick versus the worldwide web. The fund currently runs through May 19, 2017.
FYI, debit card contributions have zero (0) fees; credit cards have 3% fee. I'm not sure there is an "Anonymous" function, but you can create an account and use that as your name, if you so choose. I don't think it will post "how much you contribute" for anyone to see, so no pressure regardless how much you choose to contribute.
Sincerely,
Andrew
