Samira,

Good questions!

For the Abstract, it would be appreciated if you use the same formatting styles as the full paper (use the template) but it is not required.

We want to review the abstracts in order to be sure that the project is a good fit for the competition and so that we know how many to expect.  We use the abstracts for a lot of different things, such as locating proper judges, inviting companies to sponsor certain events, etc.. so it is important to us to have an abstract that tells us what type of project you are working on.

However, we know that some projects are not completed yet.  So, the abstract that is submitted now does not need to be the “final” version – it may be modified later.

Also, if your classmate needs a couple of extra days to submit the abstract, that will be ok.

I have somebody working to update the web site and to fix the link to the submission system.  But if it is still not working tomorrow, you can send the abstract directly to me by email.

Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Thank you,

-Fred

Dear Dr. Fred Kitchens,

I truly appreciate your replication and guide.

These files are showing the guidelines for final paper we are going to submit
in May.
But for tomorrow (15th February 2011), we are supposed to submit an abstract.
I would be grateful to know what the guideline is for that and if we should
submit that by the means of same link.

We found this information in this page:
http://www.businessinformatics-challenge.org/

Also, this question is coming from one of my classmate that if a person does not
submit an abstract, is it possible for that person to submit a short/full paper in May?

Thank you very much in advance.

Respectfully,
Samira

Samira,

Thank you for your email.  I’m glad to hear you are submitting your work to the competition!

I apologize for the links not working properly, I will have them fixed soon.  Meanwhile, the files you need are attached.

In case I cannot get the submission system working quickly, you are welcome to submit your paper directly to me by email at this address.

I look forward to reading your paper and to seeing you here in May!  We have a great event planned for you!

If there is anything else you need or if you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me.

-Fred

Dear Dr. Fred Kitchens,

I would like to ask some questions regarding the conference IBIC 2011:

1- It is stated that for the format of Abstract and main paper, we should follow:
"The paper must be submitted as a Microsoft Word document (97 or higher), formatted according to the guidelines (Please see
Challenge_Format doc) or use the Word document template IBIChallenge_Template.dot. Submitting the paper as a Microsoft
Word document helps the reviewers to insert comments and suggestions directly in the document."

Also

2- Submitting to:
"All Submissions must be submitted via our paper submission system"

The problem is unfortunately, I cannot find any of them.
Maybe I am searching not adequately but none of these are findable for me.
Would you please help with that.

Thank you very much in advance.

Respectfully,
Samira
