Dear Homebrew clubs and those who have attended "Beerstock 5060" in the past few years, we are writing to cast out a line and fish for volunteers for Beerstock in 2026.

Last year we put on Beerstock with a skeleton crew, and we can't organize Beerstock in 2026 with so few volunteers. Beerstock requires at least 5 people on the Board, and a handful of extra volunteers to take on tasks. Please share this with your club at your next meeting, thanks so much.

If we gather enough board members and organizing committee members, the first thing we will vote on is location and possible dates. (Note: the plan is to pick a date in July so that it doesn't conflict with as many local brewing events. If you know of any beer event conflicts, let us know.) Along with the Ski Park near Orting again, we also have an option of a new location to consider that is up North near Sedro Wolley. We have visited it and feel it will work nicely. It has a large flat grassy area for the booths and parking. There's plenty of room for tents to spread out among trees and other areas. There has always been a hope that Beerstock's location would go back and forth between two locations, one North of Seattle and one South of Seattle. We have a wonderful South location, and now we have found a suitable Northern location, but we don't know if there is enough interest. So please, feel free to reply with both pros and cons.

What is the responsibility of a Beerstock Board member, you ask? In general, you need to request a Board role, take on a Beerstock task and attend a majority of the Beerstock organizing meetings to make progress reports. These meetings are mostly once a month (Sundays on Zoom), but sometimes we meet at a brewery because, well, there's camaraderie and beer! Note: there are additional volunteer tasks outside of being on the Beerstock Board. For big tasks without a Board member title you'll be on the organizing committee. We'd like you to attend some meetings and otherwise make progress reports that can be read at the meetings. For smaller tasks zoom meeting attendance is not needed, just email communication and progress reports.

Check out the list below, we want to hear from you! (Note: some of the folks that volunteered last year may want that task again in 2026, so they'll get first dibs.) If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask.

The complete task list for the Beerstock Board* and general organizing committee along with volunteers:

-*President: Organizing and running the meetings, keeping track of tasks and volunteers

-*Vice President: Filling in for President, if needed

-*Secretary (notes typed and emailed after each meeting)

-*Communication (~monthly emails to all who might attend)

-*Treasurer (this task might be spoken for)

-Check-in booth (NORWA did it last year and might in 2026)

-Friday night set-up

-Web site tech (wix)

-Sunday morning breakfast

-Insurance

-Security

-Communication with the park owners

-Porta-potties

-Announcements at the event and safety sheets posted in each booth

-Entertainment (this task is already spoken for)

-Brewer's Forum

-T-shirts and taster glasses (these tasks might be spoken for)

-Food Truck

-Parking

-Saturday early morning set-up crew (trash cans, easy ups, etc)

-Sunday morning tear down and clean-up

The first meeting of the Beerstock Board will be in mid-late January. The first thing we'll determine is if we have enough volunteers. If we do, we'll vote on location, theme and determine if we want to continue the 501-C7 and the web site or choose another path.

Thanks so much and Happy Brewing,

Alison Sheafor-Joy & Mark Joy
