Accessing CASADI_VERSION in Cmake

Dear developers,

I noticed that there are considerable API changes between versions 3.0.0 [the one I'm currently using] and 3.4.5. I would like to keep the support for the older version in my software and therefore tried to access $CASADI_VERSION variable from CMake, unfortunately unsuccessfully. Any ideas why this could happen?
