We decided that, now that the appraisal was in, we should tell the landlord. Rakka and I are worriers, so we worried about that conversation. We figured she'd hate us for breaking our lease, or would try to force us to pay up the extra 6 months.

Worrying is not always productive.

None of our fears were founded. She totally understands. We will have to pay until the place gets rented, but the last one rented in only 2.5 months. And our place is on the top floor with a view of the courtyard (not the 1st looking on the alley).

We're hoping that by getting started early we'll get it rented by July. By the way, if you know anybody who'd like a nice 3rd floor 1 bedroom in Lower Queen Anne, let me know! jason.brackins at gmail dot com.
