It's been a while, right? We should be overflowing in veg by now from all those seeds, shouldn't we? Shouldn't we!?! Well, "things" happen.

Thing one: Clouseau. That darn cat loves new growth. To eat. He was unable to resist chewing the fuck out of our onions and broccoli. As you can imagine, this did not help their development.

Thing two: The Sun. I was worried about just shoving the plants in the ground without acclimatizing them first. Due to time and weather constraints, I did it anyway. Resulting in some crispy little mater plants.

Thing three: Squirrels. Guess who looooves seeds. Squirrels. The stuff we seeded directly wasn't in the ground more than a few hours before the fuckers were out there digging them back up again. They seem to have gotten all the lettuce and most of the beans. Not all of the beans though.

oooh, success!

New Thing: Pre-started plants. So we broke down and got a bunch of already started plants from the Port Orchard Farmers Market. Lettuce, strawberries, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, and tons of herbs.

some of these are from seed

I don't know why I thought we'd start everything from seed and it would just work. I should know better. If those beans and onions make it I'll be a pretty proud plant dad though, I'll tell you that much.
