It's been a whirlwind of a weekend. On Thursday we borrowed KJs truck, loaded it with a mattress and cats, and hopped on the ferry. Hoping all the time that the keys would be waiting for us.

Paint makes all the difference (
before)
We got to the house a few minutes before the keys, but everything worked out. We got in. Jennie went and got us dinner while we unloaded. We were distracted from our own sense of displacement by trying to settle the cats (it's finally working after 4 days).
Friday morning we went to Lowe's. Not normally exciting, but it was the first time we went as home owners. We went to kit out the place. We spent 600 dollars. From there it was off to Sears where we bought this beautiful washer/dryer set and a reel style lawnmower.
The washer/dryer came the next day. It was too wide to fit down the stairs. We were forced to send it back. This is what they call in the business "Bad News". In a panic we ran to the coffee shop (since internet isn't hooked up yet) to search for replacements. I think we've found them. Special space saver models, though still front load. I'll order them today.
Yesterday we painted one room, and I mowed the lawn. Not exciting you say? I say "I mowed
my lawn.
MY lawn!"
On the ferry in this morning I was finally connected enough to review
Jennie Wetter (our agent, you'll recall).
