- Moonsighting & Shariah Info Q&A Session by Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman:
Moonsighting criteria for the start of Ramadan Kareem and the
celebration of the Eids is a topic which results in differences of
opinions. In order to understand what the Shariah says about
moonsighting, a Mufti renowned on moonsighting has been invited by a
few masajids from North Carolina. Imams of numerous masaajids from
both North Carloina and South Carolina have been invited. Details of

Maulana Mufti Munib-ur-Rahman is a world authority on the moonsighting
Shariah. He is the Chairman of the Pakistan Central Moonsighting
Committee, appointed by the Government of Pakistan. In Pakistan, he
has successfully minimized the controversy that arises often on the
celebration of Islamic festivals throughout the country.
The Pakistan Central Moonsighting Committee is the authority that
declares the new moon for the critical months of Muharram, Rabi-ul-
Awwal, Sha’ban, Ramadhan, Shawwal, and Dhul Hajjah. Mufti Munib-ur-
Rahman is also the President of Tanzeemul Madaris, the Chairman of
Darul Uloom Naima, Karachi, and a visiting Professor at several
renowned universities around the world. He is prolific author and a
great scholar of Islam.
In this seminar he will have an open forum discussion on issues on
moonsighting in USA which has been a major controversy among Muslims
and a source of lack of unity in the Muslim communities. Many Imams of
the North Carolina Masaajid have been invited to attend. All
interested people are encouraged to attend.
