There is a potential problem with Quicken vs MS .NET Framework version 4.7 - they sometimes don't play well together.
If you suddenly find the QW starts to open, asks for the password then shuts down, this may be the problem.
The .NET ver 4.7 is loaded as an update or as part of the OS if you install the Creator (ver 1703) update.
If it is installed as an update, you can uninstall it. If it is installed as part of 1703, it cannot be uninstalled.
I  have a desktop that QW won't run on and a laptop that it runs fine on, both W10, ver 1703. I also have a desktop and laptop on ver 1607 that has the update installed and QW works fine on. SO, it may be something else entirely, but that was the thought from Quicken support.

If you upgrade to W10 ver 1703, the first thing to do is to make sure QW functions. If not, roll back to 1607.
If you are not on 1703 and QW starts acting up, uninstall .NET framework v4.7 using the programs & functions window.
