Hi all,

I am a student from Singapore. I have come across cartwheel3D through
one of my courses on Computer Animation. I found it very interesting.
And atm, I am interested in porting this software from ODE to PhysX,
as a practice to learn these two Physics Engines, and at the same
time, gaining more knowledge on Computer Animation. I do hope that
this can be a small contribution to cartwheel3D as well.

As the project is on-going and it is pretty scarce on documentations,
it would be great if I can get some pointers on how to start the
porting process, providing that I have got some knowledge on the
Physics Engines. For example, which class should I replace or what are
the inputs or outputs required.

Please pardon my lack of knowledge on the matter. Your help is more
than welcome. Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Vincent

As we have less time to work on the project, we are looking for
enthusiastic contributors to take it over and revive it. You are
welcome to that role if it's something you want to do. Porting it to
other physics engine is definitely a cool project! Improving
documentation would also be very nice.

I went forward and gave you commit access, don't hesitate to use it.
I'll give your first few patches a quick review when you first commit.

Cheers,

Philippe

Hello Everyone,

I'm Herleson Pontes from Brazil. I I'm also interested in contributing with
CartWheel development. My project of my master degree is related with a
comparison of ODE and Bullet.

Maybe we can write an article about our progress comparing ODE, PhysX and
Bullet. :-)

I'm also a newbie about CartWheel, but I wish to help as much as I can.
First of all, I wish to port the project to VS 2010 version and correct any
problems.

Which versions of ODE and Python does CartWheel use?

Regards,

Herleson

Thank you Philippe :-).
If am not mistaken, I need to rewrite the class ODEWorld and make it a new wrapper class for the new physics engine.
