Another letter to Obama on Food Futures

Thought this is one we need to see along with the Pollan letter Steph
sent us earlier which I loved.... Does anyone know the fellow from New
Bern on that list of signatures of big folks in the sustainable ag
world? Interesting.....

nope, didn't know Rick Dove, until just now, that is.
I just called him and he comes at this local ag issue from the water protection side.

he is promoting big time this upcoming conference in New Bern, Jan 12 to 14 -

Robert Kennedy Jr has long been an outspoken advocate for clean/ cleaner waters and he will be the keynote speaker on Monday night (free)

so he supports local farming because it is not agribusiness and local farmers are far more willing/ sympathetic to being responsible and sustainable on their asset/ their farm

here's the link to Michael Pollan's letter to the President-Elect. It ran in the October 12th issue of the NYTimes Magazine.. that issue was the "Food Issue", and packed with interesting articles.
