*Fall Foods for Foodies: Thursday, November 29:

Learn some new and different ways to prepare the vegetables that ripen in the late fall in Carteret County (and maybe even some local, seasonal seafood), and maybe give a traditional dish a new twist.  The class will focus on seasonal greens, seasonal roots, and seasonal squash along with local cool season herbs such as lemon grass, fennel, and cilantro. Enrollment is limited. Cost is $5 per person.

For those with children: two classes will be running at the same time in separate rooms:  in the teaching kitchen, room 320, we will have the adult cooking class, and in room 306, a Fall Foods Festival, where the children K-5 (ages 5 - 11) will learn about harvest seasons and will taste a range of local, seasonal foods.  Children whose parent(s) attend the adult cooking class will get first priority for the youth Seasonal Foods Festival.  Numbers for both classes are limited.  No charge for children attending with paying adult.  THERE WILL BE NO INTERACTION BETWEEN THE TWO CLASSES.  THE COOKING CLASS REMAINS AN ADULT FOODIE CLASS.

For more information, or to register by telephone, call 252-222-6359.
