Hi caterina. I may back able to take a look in the next few days but I'm ccing the cartagen developer discussion list and perhaps someone else will also have suggestions. If you could post your files online so they can be browsed that may also help.

Sounds cool,
Jeff

Hello,
I am working on the idea to add sounds to maps to let blind people explore them in combination with the mouse motion. Basically different sounds should play when mouse gets over the objects of the map (roads, water, parks, buildings...) and clicking on an object its name should be spoken. Something similar already exists on IOS devices (it's called AriadneGPS) and I think that it could be usefull to have it on pcs too. Of course it could be a good tool for educational porposals if even geographic data were retrieved.
I discovered the Cartagen project and now I would like to adapt it to this porpose.
I downloaded the source code of Cartagen 0.6.2 and I modified index.html and style.gss file and I added some scripts to implement "accessibility features" for roads. The problem is that I'm not able to recall scripts from gss even if I've inserted "hover", "mouseDown" and "action" properties.
Please, can you give a look at my code to tell me where I'm worng? I attach an archive with the modified and additional files. I'm using Firefox 15.0.1 on Win7. In the sound.js script I inserted an alert to be sure it is called.
I thank you in advance hoping you can point me on the right direction.
Best regards,
Caterina
