Hi Everyone,
A Ham friend of mine recently passed away, and his son has asked me to assist in finding someone who can take down 2 40 foot Rohn towers. One has a rotor and what looks like a KT-34a beam, as well as a Hy-gain 7-1 40 meter 1 element dipole. There are various other 2m/70cm yagis and verticals also, as well as a wire dipole. Other equipment includes an alpha 77 amp, and a CT Systems 3000b service monitor.
Taking a tower down is way outside my wheelhouse. I do know there is a ginpole on site. Is Ron still in the business?
His son is looking to trade the tower and antennas, and/or the gear in exchange for someone taking it down. Liability insurance is a question he had also. I know in the clubs there are qualified people to do the work, but is there an insurance element available in case a tower sections falls through the roof, or worse someone falls off the tower?
Thanks for any guidance.
Nick
