WOULD YOU LIKE TO WRITE MUSIC
LIKE MOZART DID?
Live webinar - Saturday, 24th November, 2018, 13:00 - 15:00 GMT
Now here's something any developing composer can't afford to miss!
During the course of this two hour live webinar we are going to take an inside look at Mozart's glorious Piano Sonata in Bb (K570), in order to discover how Mozart writes the most amazing melodies; how he invents and develops exquisite rhythmic ideas that bring the music to life; how he deals with key, modulation, and clever touches of harmony; how he structures his music in such a way that it all hangs together beautifully yet never becomes predictable; how he organises the details of texture, phrasing, and dynamics to serve the music and to keep the listener engaged.
Then - HEY, LISTEN TO THIS...we are going to have a go at writing in the style of Mozart.
Are you a composer who can create ideas but then has trouble developing and contrasting those ideas? Are you a composer who comes up with great melodies then lacks confidence when it comes to harmonising them? Do you lose confidence working your ideas into effective external and internal structures? Or are you a composer who has the technique but who sometimes runs into bother when it comes to adding that spark of creative genius? Then this webinar is for YOU!
Or are you a pianist working on this wonderful Sonata in Bb for a performance, an audition, or a Diploma exam? You probably play the piece well but but do you really understand what to draw out of the music in your interpretation? Or do you need to construct some programme notes to go with your performance? Then this webinar is for YOU!
Or are you a musician looking for insight into how to interpret music of the Classical Period, with all the elegance and drama that it needs? Then this webinar is for YOU!
Or are you studying Theory and Analysis for interest or for exams, and need to discover the tools to do so more effectively? Then this webinar is for YOU TOO!
It gets better...At any point during the webinar you can type a question and Gareth will do his best to answer it. It's like attending a live lesson - at a fraction of the price!
Never attended a webinar before? It's easy. Once you've signed up you'll receive an e mail link. Simply click the link on the day and connect with Gareth live.
Will others know that you're there? No, you can be entirely anonymous if you choose and no-one will be able to see you.
Can you replay the webinar after it's finished? Yes, as many times as you like!
What happens if you want to watch the webinar but you're not free at that time on that day? No problem. Sign up anyway and you'll be sent the whole thing to watch at your leisure.
PLEASE SHARE THIS with any other musician you know. People have been asking for a webinar like this, so we want as many people as possible to share in the opportunity.
In other news from Gareth... I'm still in Hong Kong for another week, continuing to have an incredible time working with young musicians in this amazing part of the world. Today there is some time off so I hired a bike and cycled up the coast in the New Territories. It was fabulous to take in the sea and the mountains beyond, and to meet people on the way. Tomorrow I probably won't be able to walk but that's the price one pays with a level of fitness like mine!
Have a good day, and we look forward to seeing you on November 24th. Meanwhile, take a look at all the courses we have to offer, invite your musical friends to join you on the Music Matters Newsletter list by clicking on at www.mmcourses.co.uk, and make sure you've subscribed (free of charge!) to the Music Matters YouTube channel in order to receive weekly videos with our compliments.
