CSSM at Uppingham School in Rutland
3rd - 10th August 2019
Dear Chorister,
We’d love you to attend our annual musical summer school, CSSM.
Our timetable enables you to sing with the chamber choir, take part in the Art of Singing masterclass, enjoy Evensong in Uppingham School Chapel, perform the Rossini Stabat Mater with full orchestra, and still leaves time for ad hoc music-making opportunities available between the organised sessions - particularly with the Masterclass for Accompanists.
What we do:
We bring together around 200 instrumentalists and singers of all standards, from early grades to semi-professional, and each participant creates their own bespoke week of musical activities. Our internationally renowned tutors, varied courses and daily free concerts (including professional performances) create a vibrant atmosphere in a stunning location - with great food, a swimming pool, and a characterful town to explore too.
CSSM students often return year after year, creating a strong camaraderie which they delight in sharing with musicians exploring the course for the first time. You’ll make new friends while enhancing your singing in a stimulating, immersive musical environment.
Financial Assistance:
To encourage you to try CSSM (and simultaneously support UK amateur choirs) we're offering a £50 donation to your choir funds if you're applying for the first time - just write 'Choral Donation' and the email details of your choir organiser on your application form. Our brochure also has details of bursary and discount schemes available to some young and new applicants which may interest you.
