One of my favourite contemporary artists – Turkish born Volkan Diyaroglu – is one of the artists whose work is being auctioned by Sotheby’s on the 7th of April in London as part of the Contemporary Art / Turkish sale. I have written about Volkan’s work several times, and have been following his career for many years, all the while knowing that I had come across an artist who was destined for great things. The fact that his work has been chosen to be part of this auction is testament to the incredible talent that Volkan possesses. There is no other contemporary artist that I have come across who continually manages to amaze me and challenge me as much as Volkan does. Being able to manipulate paint on canvas the way he does is a talent that very few artists possess.
As the owner of several of his works, I can honestly say that Volkan Diyaroglu is one of the most talented artists that I have come across, and an artist well worth investing in. If you have an interest in Turkish art or in abstract painters then you should consider investing in this work. Volkan is undoubtedly one of the great masters of the future.
