redis or rabbitmq?

hi,

i'm using kombu (well, technically celery) with the rabbitmq backend,
but i'm thinking about switching to the redis-backend.
we already use redis for other things, and we only use rabbitmq for
kombu, so it would make sense to reduce the
number of used technologies.

i wonder, how does the redis-backend compare to the rabbitmq-backend?
i checked the http://kombu.readthedocs.org/en/latest/introduction.html#transport-comparison
page,
where it says redis is "virtual" and amqplib is "native", but except
this one, all the remaining attributes are the same.

so, what are the disadvantages of using redis instead of rabbitmq? (or
vice-versa)

thanks,
gabor
