For the record, the upcoming Census will decide how many folks actually live, work and play in our neighborhoods, which leads to budgetary allocations from the local, state and federal level.  You may here about how population decline contributes to everything from school and library closings to lack of salt for our roads.  The information the census collects helps to determine how more than $400 billion dollars of federal funding each year is spent on infrastructure and services like:

• Hospitals
• Job training centers
• Schools
• Senior centers
• Bridges, tunnels and other-public works projects
• Emergency services

If you someone you know is looking for a job, you can be employed and help our community at the same time. We need every single person counted so we get our fair share of resources.

The U.S. Census Bureau is recruiting temporary, part-time census takers for the 2010 Census. These short-term jobs offer good pay, flexible hours, paid training, and reimbursement for authorized work-related expenses, such as mileage incurred while conducting census work. Best of all, census takers work right in their own communities.

Census taker jobs are excellent for people who want to work part-time, those who are between jobs, or just about anyone who wants to earn extra money while performing an important service for their community.
