Dear community members,The Knoxville/Carrick Library Branch merger is still on the table. Unless a critical mass of community members get involved in saving the Carrick Library, is there any reason for a just a few to get involved in stopping the merger of our library? Merger means losing our Carrick library at its present location for good. Once its gone its gone. To see this discussion sign up to the google group save-pittsbur...@googlegroups.com..Attached is a flyer regarding a meeting on January 11th at 4 pm at the Knoxville Library and everyone is invited. There has not been a lot of community involvement or representation from Carrick or Overbrook in several of the meetings I went to and this is may be why the merger is still on the table. No noise means no involvement and the library board will proceed with a merger. Hearings will be scheduled and plans for those hearings are being formulated. So what does our community do? If you are concerned and want to be involved, meet at the Knoxville Library in January.John Rudiak
This is a followup reminder to have you all participate in Saving Our
Libraries from closing and merger. On Monday, January 11, 2010 at 4 pm
there will be a meeting at the Knoxville Library for the communities
of Carrick, Overbrook, Knoxville, Borough of Mt. Oliver and all that
are concerned about the closing and mergers.
Please attend.
