SOS has been providing Resurgens state of the art equipment and above all, great customer service since 2011. The friendly technicians offer personalized service. In the infrequent times the copier has a problem the technicians are dispatched quickly and repair the copier the same day."

"SOS was able to help us become more technically advanced. We have received superb service. They also proactively monitor our network, security, and back-up/disaster recovery plan. They have a vCIO who comes and helps us numerous projects and plans that we are trying to accomplish. We are very happy with our partnership with SOS as they continue to go above and beyond expectations for us."

"With having such a great experience regarding the printing side of their business, we decided to turn to SOS for their IT and telephone knowledge. This transition has streamlined our office procedures as we now have one company monitoring our office network, phones, and printing needs. I would like to thank... the entire SOS team for creating, building, and supporting our office network."

"The company that formerly held our IT contract had held our data hostage... SOS assisted in providing legal advice - even offering to represent us in court at no charge. We strongly encourage partnering with SOS for Managed IT Services to anyone entertaining the opportunity."

This standard is intended exclusively for Office Buildings and their associated structures. It is applicable to all types of Office Buildings, regardless of the nature of the businesses they house; including but not limited to, various commercial, medical, institutional, and life science uses. It can be used for single tenant, multi-tenant, or multi-building configurations, and is suitable for measuring new, existing, and proposed Office Buildings. This standard does not include the measurement of public sidewalks, surface parking, landscaping, drainage structures, or other site improvements. The primary purpose of this standard is to calculate Rentable Area, a crucial metric in office leasing. Nevertheless, it also provides area figures useful for space utilization analysis, valuation, benchmarking, and allocating building expenses across different cost centers.

Another thing related to layers and classes - is there an easy way to determine if they are empty (have no data in them)? After experimenting with these, I have many what should be unused classes and layers that I would like to purge, but reluctant to do so (just in case they have data in them).

i have a script for exporting a list of classes as a text file. I am sure one could be written for layers too. There is a command within the software to list symbols (Tools > Utilities > List Symbols). However, worksheets are great because they can be exported as excel or csv.

if you are looking for class naming standards then Vectorworks ships with American Standards, i.e. AIA and the AEC UK libraries and you will find links to BS1192/ISO19650 libraries amongst my posts, otherwise ping me a PM. Start with a known convention and add classes to suit.

we advise on standard adoption within vectorworks having been working with many practices In the U.K. for over 20 year and in my experience, the more tied down a standard is the less it will be adhered to, ironically. On the other hand, the looser the standard the more time you spend managing it.

where the sheet number '00001', the important bit as far as most Architects are concerned, is at the end of the file name (blame the person or persons responsible for that frankly ridiculous decision)

Another thing I am struggling with is Construction Document annotations, etc. Very little is offered, that I could find, for wall types, door types, and for dressing up the details, etc. Is there a sample file or video out there that could guide me toward an easy and standard method of accomplishing them?

You are always best advised to create your own content, in your standards, and not use the data that ships with the software. This does take time, but the software vendor cannot possibly know what you want, let alone maintain it.

Most vendor content is ok for general purposes or if it is meeting some international standard to meet that standard. But it's not uncommon to need something slightly different so the advice to build your own content is definitely a good one. That way you will get to keep "outdated" content as well in case you need to update old drawings according to older standards if required. With relying on vendor content you risk that such content may be removed when it is updated/removed if standards etc. develop further/change.

The bad news - when I opened my file today - POOF!!! It is gone and it is nowhere to be found in resources. Before spending much more time creating another one (my previous one had numerous pull-downs, etc. to simplify input) I was hoping that perhaps it hides somewhere...

Note: This simplified option does not change the criteria for who may claim a home office deduction. It merely simplifies the calculation and recordkeeping requirements of the allowable deduction.

More information on both methods can be found in Publication 587, Business Use of Your Home (Including Use by Daycare Providers). Full details on the Simplified Method can be found in Revenue Procedure 2013-13.
