Thinking back on the first week of Civics, do you agree with the use of plea bargaining as a method of settling criminal cases quickly?  Why or why not?

Yes i agree with the method of plea bargaining because,as you said in class, cases can go on for a very long time and plea bargaining makes it easier on everybody. You plead guilty to a charge, all other charges might get dismissed, and you might get a more lenient sentence, cased closed.

This response is great!  Let's try to get more people involved...

The grading rubric for your participation on Google Groups has been posted (please read the rubric before commenting on the week's posting).

Rest assured, I'll be lurking on this Group - adding an occasional comment throughout the week as warranted.  But this format provides all of us the opportunity to react and respond in a way that might not necessarily present itself during the 55 minutes we are within the walls of Room 204.

Yes, because even though its kind of messed up by telling on the person you are partners with, it helps detectives get to the source more quicker so justice can be served in a faster process

Yes, I agree with plea bargaining. It helps get to the end of case faster by confession other than waiting out the the trail until they find you follow guilty or not guilty over evidence. It save a lot of time and hassle, because trails can take a couple months and some can take years but by using this method it could all be revolved much easier and faster.

I completely agree with your statement, because just by using the plea bargaining method it makes everything run a lot smoother and easier.

Yes , because your not wasting time going in and out of court to decide the case. Also you are given a lower sentence.

i totally agree, because by using the plea bargaining method it helps settle the case a lot faster.Than trying to find evidence and other resourses to find to client guilty.

Yes, because courts would be so overloaded that they would effectively be shut down.

I agree with you because no one wants to be in a trial that long
